We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Grafana OSS team and contribute to our open-source observability platform.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of core Grafana features and components. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, designers, and product managers to define, design, and ship new features, ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our platform.
This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in Canada.
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of core Grafana features and components.
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code in Go, TypeScript, React, and other relevant technologies.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of the Grafana platform.
- Help foster a strong open-source community by engaging with users, addressing their feedback, and contributing to documentation.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on full-stack development.
- Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, and React, or similar languages and frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with observability tools and concepts (e.g., Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry).
- Experience working with open-source projects and communities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
