Seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The Senior Tax Accountant will support the tax department with tax compliance and reporting obligations. This position will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager and will be responsible for preparing various tax returns, reconciliations, and analyses. The ideal candidate will have strong tax accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and file all state and local sales & use tax returns and property tax returns, including related tax payments
- Prepare various tax reconciliations, including tax accounts and general ledger
- Assist with month-end close process, including preparation of tax related journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of federal and state income/franchise tax returns
- Support income tax provision calculations and related schedules
- Perform tax research, analysis, and special projects as needed
- Assist with federal, state, and international tax audits
- Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls
- Maintain and update internal tax calendar to ensure all tax filings and payments are completed timely
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field
- 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Experience with tax software and general ledger systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
