is currently seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team. The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing various tax returns, tax provisions, and other tax-related documents. This role will also assist with tax research, planning, and compliance activities. This is a remote position based in USA – East.
The Sr. Tax Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, including quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Prepare and review sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and other indirect tax filings.
- Prepare and review tax provisions (ASC 740) and related disclosures for financial reporting.
- Assist with tax research, planning, and compliance activities, including identifying tax-saving opportunities and mitigating tax risks.
- Respond to tax inquiries from internal and external auditors, as well as tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, legal, and operations, to ensure tax compliance and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Assist with special tax projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification or progress towards obtaining CPA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination thereof.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
