This position is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel related to contracting, operations and compliance in the managed care area. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, with a focus on managed care contracting.
About the Job
- Drafting and negotiating managed care contracts, including payor, physician, and ancillary provider agreements.
- Providing legal advice and counsel on a broad range of managed care issues, including compliance with state and federal laws and regulations (e.g., ERISA, Medicare/Medicaid, Affordable Care Act).
- Supporting business development and strategic initiatives related to managed care.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, operations, finance) to achieve business objectives.
- Managing external counsel and legal vendors as needed.
- Participating in internal committees and workgroups.
- Developing and delivering training on legal topics related to managed care.
- Staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments impacting the managed care industry.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in at least one state.
- 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, with a focus on managed care contracting.
- Strong understanding of managed care laws and regulations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of professionalism and ethical conduct.
