Optiv is hiring a Technical Manager – SASE. As a leader for Optiv’s SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) capability within the Advisory Services department, this role will be instrumental in expanding and maturing Optiv’s SASE solutions and services.
The Technical Manager – SASE is a leadership position within Advisory Services at Optiv and will play a critical role in shaping the future of our SASE offerings. This individual will be a subject matter expert in SASE technologies and trends, providing technical guidance, thought leadership, and strategic direction to clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SASE architecture, design principles, and implementation best practices, with a proven track record of successful SASE deployments in enterprise environments.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for SASE architecture, design, and implementation best practices.
- Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to clients on SASE adoption strategies, roadmap development, and solution integration.
- Conduct technical assessments of existing client environments to identify SASE opportunities and develop tailored recommendations.
- Design and develop SASE solutions, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with sales and solution architects to develop compelling proposals, statements of work, and presentations for SASE engagements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams, ensuring successful delivery of SASE projects on time and within budget.
- Stay abreast of emerging SASE technologies, industry trends, and vendor offerings to continuously enhance Optiv’s SASE capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property, methodologies, and best practices related to SASE.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for additional security services.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, including solution demonstrations and technical presentations, to support business development efforts.
- Drive collaboration with other service lines to integrate SASE solutions with broader security strategies.
What you’ll bring:
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security and cloud security technologies.
- 3+ years of experience specifically with SASE technologies (e.g., Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco Umbrella, Versa Networks).
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex SASE solutions for enterprise clients.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security principles.
- Expertise in secure web gateways (SWG), cloud access security brokers (CASB), zero trust network access (ZTNA), and firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Zscaler certifications, Palo Alto Networks certifications) are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed (up to 25%).
