About the Team
Open Connect Control Plane team is looking for a talented and experienced Distributed Systems Software Engineer. The team builds and operates the distributed control plane for Open Connect, our global Content Delivery Network (CDN) that delivers Netflix content to over 270 million members worldwide.
What you will do
- Design, build, and operate robust, scalable, and high-performance distributed systems for the Open Connect Control Plane.
- Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams to define and implement new features and services.
- Improve the reliability, efficiency, and observability of our systems.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support our production systems.
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or similar JVM languages.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consistency, availability, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with building and operating highly available and scalable services.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
