Security Engineer – Detection and Response

About the Role: We’re seeking a skilled Security Engineer with a focus on Detection and Response to help secure our mission-critical systems and data. In this role, you’ll be integral in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust security controls, monitoring, and incident response capabilities across our infrastructure and applications. Your work will directly contribute to safeguarding our AI models, research, and sensitive information, ensuring the integrity and trust in our technology. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain security detection rules, alerts, and dashboards across various platforms (e.g., cloud environments, endpoints, applications, networks). Develop and enhance automated incident response playbooks and tools to streamline security operations. Perform security incident triage, investigation, and resolution, collaborating with engineering teams as needed. Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify and mitigate emerging threats. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture by identifying gaps and recommending solutions. Participate in on-call rotation for critical security incidents. Educate and mentor other engineers on security best practices and incident response procedures. Prerequisites: 5+ years of experience in a security engineering role with a strong focus on detection and response, incident handling, or security operations. Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Rust) for automation and tool development. Strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and other security tools. Solid understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Linux, macOS), and web application security. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team in a fast-paced environment.
