As a Director, Software Engineering, you will provide management oversight and leadership for multiple engineering teams involved in the design, development, and support of software products and solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping our technical strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets the needs of our customers.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide management oversight and leadership for multiple engineering teams involved in the design, development, and support of software products and solutions.
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of mission-critical business systems and applications that are scalable, reliable, and performant.
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
- Mentor and coach engineering managers and individual contributors, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with other directors and leaders across the organization to align engineering efforts with overall business goals.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our products and processes.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple engineering teams.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software products and solutions.
- Strong technical background in modern software architectures, design patterns, and programming languages (e.g., C#, .Net, TypeScript, React, SQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
- Experience in the dental industry or healthcare software is a plus.
