We’re looking for a Manager for our Threat Detection and Enforcement Operations team that helps defend Reddit against adversarial activities, with a focus on detecting and disrupting financially-motivated threat actors like spam and fraud groups. The ideal candidate has experience building and scaling operations teams that leverage tooling and automation to drive effective enforcement, as well as a passion for digging into online abuse.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of threat detection and enforcement analysts focused on combating financially motivated abuse and other adversarial activities.
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance threat detection and enforcement capabilities, staying ahead of evolving threats.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Drive the operationalization of threat intelligence, integrating findings into detection rules and enforcement actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, data science, and legal, to develop and implement scalable solutions.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of detection and enforcement efforts, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing workflows.
- Respond to critical incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and minimize impact.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest threat landscape, tools, and techniques, leveraging insights to inform detection and enforcement strategies.
What We Are Looking For:
- 6+ years of experience in trust and safety, fraud, or cybersecurity operations.
- 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role, preferably leading a team of threat analysts or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and optimize operations teams that leverage tooling and automation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation.
- Deep understanding of the threat landscape, including financially motivated abuse, spam, fraud, and other adversarial tactics.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
