About the Role
Reddit is looking for a Sr. Payroll Manager to join our growing team. As a Sr. Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for processing payroll for our employees in the US and international entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing payroll systems, and staying up-to-date with payroll laws and regulations.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all Reddit entities (US and International).
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of multi-state and international payroll, including wages, benefits, taxes, and other deductions, while maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review and approve payroll data, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.
- Coordinate with HR, Legal, and other internal departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll-related information.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary adjustments to payroll processes.
- Manage payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, collaborating with IT and external vendors to optimize payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring clear documentation and adherence to internal controls.
- Prepare and submit various payroll reports, including tax filings, year-end statements, and ad-hoc requests.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries, providing timely and accurate information to employees and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data and processes to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with tax teams and external auditors to support payroll-related audits and compliance activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
- 8+ years of experience managing multi-state and international payroll, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- In-depth knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, as well as international payroll practices.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG) and experience with system implementations and upgrades.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive payroll information.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Workday payroll system.
- Experience with global payroll providers like Safeguard, Cloudpay, or activpayroll.
- Experience working with publicly traded companies.
