About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our fast-growing Financial Crimes team, focused on building product experiences that address money laundering, sanctions, and fraud across our platform.
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our financial crimes prevention efforts. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and risk managers to understand complex regulatory requirements and translate them into intuitive, user-friendly designs that protect Mercury and our customers.
You’ll:
- Help identify, conceptualize, and design features and workflows to help prevent and manage financial crime on Mercury. You’ll be tackling complex problems around money laundering, sanctions, and fraud across our platform.
- Be a thought partner to product managers, engineers, and risk managers to shape the product roadmap and user experience for our Financial Crimes products.
- Own the end-to-end design process, from initial research and ideation to prototyping, user testing, and final implementation.
- Translate complex requirements into intuitive and elegant user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups.
- Contribute to our design system and maintain consistency across our products.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other designers on the team, providing and soliciting feedback to raise the bar for design quality.
You have:
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally with a focus on complex problem spaces like financial crime, fintech, or enterprise software.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your product thinking, UX/UI skills, and ability to tackle challenging problems from end-to-end.
- Experience working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive projects independently.
- The ability to thrive in a high-growth environment, adapting to change and ambiguity.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with financial crime detection and prevention, compliance, or risk management.
- A deep understanding of financial regulations (e.g., AML, KYC, sanctions).
