Senior Analyst – Fundraising Data & Analytics

The Fundraising Data & Analytics team at Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Senior Analyst. This role focuses on data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting to support the fundraising efforts of the Wikimedia Foundation. As a Senior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making, optimize fundraising campaigns, and enhance donor engagement. You will work closely with fundraising, product, and engineering teams to provide actionable insights, build robust data solutions, and foster a data-driven culture.

As a Senior Analyst, Fundraising Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop, maintain, and automate reporting dashboards and key performance indicators to monitor fundraising performance and provide actionable insights to fundraising teams.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimizing fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with fundraising teams, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, define analytical objectives, and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Design and implement data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines to support fundraising analytics and reporting needs.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to fundraising teams on data interpretation, analytical methodologies, and best practices for data-driven decision-making.
  • Present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data analytics, fundraising, and non-profit sectors.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.
  • Support the development and implementation of A/B tests and other experiments to optimize fundraising campaigns and donor experiences.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure, tools, and processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of fundraising data analytics.

We’re looking for someone who has:

Skills and Experience

  • 5-7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with a focus on fundraising, marketing, or non-profit sectors.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and building interactive dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
