We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Assist with the annual audit process and interact with external auditors.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support.
- Manage sales and use tax compliance in multiple states.
- Manage federal and state income tax compliance.
Prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Experience in a SaaS company is highly preferred.
- Experience with a startup environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
