Test Engineer 5 – Games Platform Quality

About the Role

As a Test Engineer 5, you’ll join a team that delivers high-quality games to millions of players worldwide. Your work will focus on the foundational technologies and platform features that enable amazing gaming experiences. You will ensure that the gaming experience is performant, stable and delightful for players.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to define and drive the quality strategy for our games platform, working closely with engineers, product managers, and designers. You’ll lead by example, mentoring junior team members and advocating for best practices in test automation, performance testing, and reliability engineering.

What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies for our games platform and its underlying services.
  • Build and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Conduct performance, stress, and load testing to identify bottlenecks and ensure system scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline, promoting a shift-left approach to quality.
  • Investigate and debug complex issues, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Mentor and guide junior test engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Advocate for quality and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

What you bring to the role:

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on platform-level testing, games, or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks using languages like Python, Java, C#, or Go.
  • Proven experience with performance, load, and stress testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, K6).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for games and a deep understanding of gaming platforms and ecosystems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
