Proteomics Specialist

Responsibilities/Accountabilities include:

  • Develop and conduct proteomics experiments, including sample preparation, mass spectrometry-based data acquisition, and data analysis.
  • Work with diverse biological samples to identify and quantify proteins, analyze post-translational modifications, and interpret complex proteomic datasets to support research and development initiatives.
  • Operate and maintain high-resolution mass spectrometers and associated equipment.
  • Develop and optimize robust proteomic workflows for various applications.
  • Perform proteomic data analysis using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design experiments, interpret results, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, data, and protocols.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in proteomics technologies and methodologies.

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Proteomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience, or B.S. with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of mass spectrometry-based proteomics techniques (e.g., DDA, DIA, TMT/iTRAQ labeling, label-free quantification).
  • Proficiency in proteomic data analysis software and bioinformatics tools (e.g., MaxQuant, Proteome Discoverer, Spectronaut, R, Python).
  • Experience with sample preparation techniques for various biological matrices (e.g., cells, tissues, biofluids).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Due to our contractual requirements, to be eligible for this role, you must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.

Preferred:

  • Experience with post-translational modification analysis.
  • Knowledge of biomarker discovery and validation.
  • Familiarity with clinical proteomics applications.
  • Experience in a GLP/GCP regulated environment.
