About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Chief External Affairs Officer (CEAO) to lead our strategic communications, government relations, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The CEAO will be responsible for enhancing our public image, building strong relationships with key external partners, and effectively communicating our mission and impact to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive external affairs strategies aligned with our organizational goals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government officials, industry leaders, media representatives, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee all public relations, media relations, and crisis communications efforts.
- Lead the development and dissemination of compelling messaging and content across various platforms, including press releases, reports, presentations, and digital channels.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and public forums.
- Monitor and analyze political, economic, and social trends to identify opportunities and potential risks.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including leadership, marketing, and legal, to ensure integrated external engagement.
- Manage and mentor a team of external affairs professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in external affairs, public relations, government relations, or corporate communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic external affairs initiatives.
- Extensive network of contacts in government, media, and relevant industries.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of public policy, legislative processes, and media landscape.
- Ability to think strategically, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
