Oddball is seeking a Mainframe Engineer to join a team focused on developing and enhancing a modernized healthcare records system for veterans. As a Mainframe Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers to design, implement, test, and deploy software solutions.
As a Mainframe Engineer, you will:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software solutions.
- Collaborate with team members on technical design decisions.
- Develop and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance applications.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
You’d be a great fit if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe engineering or a related field.
- Experience with z/OS operating system.
- Experience with COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
- Experience with mainframe debugging tools and performance monitoring.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Salary Range: C$90k – C$130k
