Staff Product Designer, New Content Experiences – Video Podcasts

At Netflix, we want to entertain the world. We’re hiring a Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of podcast experiences on Netflix. We seek a seasoned product designer with experience bringing delightful content experiences to life, and a passion for finding new and compelling ways to engage members with our content. This is a chance to define and lead the design vision for how members discover and engage with video podcasts on Netflix.

As a Staff Product Designer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design of innovative features and experiences that will captivate our global audience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and researchers, to translate complex requirements into intuitive and elegant user interfaces. Your passion for design, user-centered approach, and ability to think strategically will be instrumental in delivering world-class entertainment experiences.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Define the design vision for video podcasts on Netflix, shaping how members discover and engage with this new format.
  • Lead the end-to-end design process, from conceptualization to execution, for new features and experiences related to video podcasts.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, content strategists, and researchers to deliver innovative and impactful designs.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions.
  • Translate complex requirements into intuitive and elegant user interfaces, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, effectively communicating your design rationale and incorporating feedback.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Netflix’s design system and advocate for best practices in user experience design.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and collaboration.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer-facing products across multiple platforms (web, mobile, TV).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional product design skills, user-centered design thinking, and a proven track record of delivering successful experiences.
  • Deep expertise in interaction design, visual design, and information architecture, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Experience working on content-rich platforms or entertainment products, with a passion for helping users discover and engage with compelling content.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to evolving priorities.
  • Experience with video, audio, or podcasting products is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field is a plus.
