SC Specialty is searching for a Senior Claims Resolution Specialist to join our team. We’re looking for someone who has a strong background in large loss complex casualty claims handling and experience managing attorney representation of claimants, working with insureds in defending claims, and managing defense counsel to reach favorable claim resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Manages complex or specialty claims, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of claims.
- Engages in litigation management, including developing litigation strategy with defense counsel, monitoring litigation, and ensuring effective resolution of claims.
- Interprets and applies policy coverages, as well as laws and regulations.
- Identifies and evaluates potential for subrogation, recovery, and fraud.
- Provides training and mentorship to less experienced claims specialists.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives to improve claims processes and outcomes.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies and procedures applicable to the role.
- Applies and utilizes advanced level of knowledge on company policies and procedures, claim handling, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., JD, CPCU, AIC, SCLA) preferred.
- Typically 5+ years of experience in complex casualty claims handling, with a focus on large loss claims.
- Proven experience in litigation management and working with defense counsel.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, where required.
- Travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
