We are looking for a DoD Financial Improvement & Audit Remediation Specialist to join our team.
What You Will Do
- Perform financial statement analysis and reconciliation.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans (CAPs) to address audit findings and improve financial processes.
- Assist clients in preparing for and responding to financial audits, including gathering documentation, supporting auditor requests, and defending financial positions.
- Conduct internal control assessments and provide recommendations for strengthening control environments.
- Support the implementation of financial management systems and related process improvements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on DoD financial regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial improvement initiatives with broader organizational goals.
- Prepare and present reports, briefings, and other deliverables to clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members.
- Stay abreast of changes in DoD financial management requirements and industry trends.
What You Will Need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, DoD financial improvement, or audit remediation.
- Skills/Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of federal financial management regulations, including the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR).
- Experience with financial statement audits (e.g., GAO Yellow Book, OMB A-123).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Master’s degree or CPA certification.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
