Job Title: Executive Director of State Programs

Location: Remote – USA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Executive Director of State Programs to lead and manage our state-level initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, overseeing program execution, building strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the overall success of our state-based projects. This is a critical leadership role that requires a deep understanding of state legislative processes, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in government affairs or public policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for state programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client objectives.
  • Oversee the management and execution of all state-level projects, from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including state officials, legislative staff, advocacy groups, and community leaders.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the state level, analyze their potential impact, and advise clients on appropriate strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of program managers and staff, fostering a collaborative, productive, and high-performance environment.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively for all state programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability.
  • Represent the organization at state-level events, conferences, and meetings, enhancing our visibility and influence.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on program progress, outcomes, and challenges to senior leadership and clients.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for program growth, expansion, and new business development within the state landscape.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or political campaigns, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in managing complex state-level programs and initiatives, demonstrating measurable results.
  • Deep understanding of state legislative processes, regulatory frameworks, and political landscapes across various states.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build consensus, negotiate effectively, and collaborate strategically with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Asana, Trello) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel as needed to attend meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements across various states.

Compensation:

C$302k-C$369k annual
