This role is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join a dynamic team as a Government Contracts Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of government contracts, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide expertise on government contracts, including RFPs, RFQs, and various federal, state, and local agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations (FAR, DFARS, etc.), and internal policies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions, modifications, and subcontracts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government contracting inquiries and resolve contractual issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, legal, finance, engineering) to ensure contract requirements are met.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimal contract performance and risk mitigation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on government contracting best practices.
- Monitor changes in government contracting regulations and advise on potential impacts.
- Participate in proposal development and support business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in government contracts management, preferably within a corporate or legal setting.
- In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and defense federal acquisition regulations supplement (DFARS).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as CFCM (Certified Federal Contracts Manager) or CPCM (Certified Professional Contracts Manager) are a plus.
- Experience with GSA Schedules and other government contracting vehicles is highly desirable.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or JD preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in government contracts management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FAR, DFARS, and other relevant government regulations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Certifications (Plus): CFCM or CPCM.
