Job Description
The Commercial Product Marketing Manager will be an integral member of the marketing organization and will lead the inbound and outbound commercial product marketing efforts. This includes but is not limited to developing product messaging and positioning, go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, competitive analysis, and market intelligence.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the product lifecycle, market dynamics, and customer needs, with a proven track record of successfully launching and growing products in competitive markets. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, tactical execution, and cross-functional collaboration to drive product success and achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop product positioning, messaging, and value propositions that differentiate products in the market.
- Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for new product launches, ensuring successful market adoption.
- Create compelling sales enablement content, including presentations, battle cards, and demos, to empower the sales team.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, sales, engineering, and other teams to ensure alignment on product strategy and execution.
- Develop and manage product marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, content marketing, and events.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new product development.
- Act as a product evangelist, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Manage and mentor a team of product marketing specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business and with customers.
- Manage the execution of key product marketing projects on time and within budget.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in product marketing, with a focus on commercial products.
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing product marketing strategies, including product launches and go-to-market plans.
- Strong understanding of market research methodologies, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and content management tools.
- Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector is a plus.
- Travel may be required.
