The company is a fast-growing company exploring for the metals critical for the EV revolution. Our technology and exploration activities are growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Head of Procurement to scale our procurement efforts.
Job Summary
The Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to support our exploration activities and corporate operations. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in supply chain management, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management, preferably in the mining or metals industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for exploration activities and corporate needs.
- Lead the negotiation of contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
- Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide effective solutions.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Oversee the procurement team, providing leadership and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the mining or metals industry preferred.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Location
This role is open to candidates located in USA, Canada, or Zambia. While this is a remote-friendly position, occasional travel to our operational sites and offices may be required.
Salary Range
C$222,750 – C$303,750 annual
