Are you an experienced designer with a passion for web browsers and open source? Do you enjoy crafting beautiful and intuitive user experiences? Mozilla is looking for a Staff Designer to join our Firefox desktop team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Firefox by designing innovative features that enhance user productivity, privacy, and delight.
About the Role:
- Own large, complex features from conception to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and researchers.
- Translate complex user needs and business requirements into elegant and intuitive design solutions.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for new and existing Firefox features.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and synthesize feedback to iterate on designs.
- Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and quality across the Firefox experience.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence.
- Act as a design advocate within the organization, communicating design rationale and advocating for user-centered design principles.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
What you bring:
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects.
- Expertise in designing for desktop applications, preferably web browsers.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote-first environment.
