Senior Communications Manager

Splice is looking for a Senior Communications Manager to build and implement our communications strategy and execute earned media initiatives that elevate the Splice brand globally. This role will be responsible for developing compelling narratives, managing media relations, and supporting executive communications to enhance Splice’s reputation and reach across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to elevate the Splice brand globally.
  • Execute earned media initiatives globally, including proactive pitching, press release distribution, and media outreach.
  • Proactively identify and develop compelling stories and narratives about Splice’s products, services, and culture.
  • Manage media relations, including proactive pitching, responding to inquiries, and cultivating relationships with journalists and influencers in music, tech, and business press.
  • Write and edit various communications materials, including press releases, media alerts, pitches, Q&As, messaging documents, and executive briefing materials.
  • Support executive communications efforts, including media training, thought leadership opportunities, and speaking engagements.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (Marketing, Product, Social, etc.) to ensure consistent messaging and maximize earned media opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing regular reports on campaign performance and competitive insights.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external PR agencies and consultants, ensuring alignment with Splice’s communications goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the legal team on crisis communications and rapid response as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the music, tech, or entertainment industries.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies and earned media campaigns.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Strong media relations skills and a network of contacts within the music, tech, and business press.
  • Experience working with and managing external PR agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
