You will lead our litigation, pre-litigation, and litigation-adjacent matters. • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, assess legal risks, and provide practical and actionable advice on a wide range of legal issues related to litigation and disputes.
  • Develop and implement litigation policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and minimize litigation risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, compliance, and risk, to proactively identify and address potential legal issues and mitigate risks.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes relevant to litigation and financial services, and provide guidance to the legal team and business partners.
  • Handle complex, highly sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgment.
  • Partner with legal operations and leverage technology to optimize efficiency.

What we’re looking for

  • 12+ years of litigation experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination thereof, with a focus on financial services, technology, or fintech.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex litigation matters, including class actions, regulatory enforcement actions, and commercial disputes.
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, concise, and actionable advice.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with payments, banking, crypto, or fintech preferred.
  • Experience with pre-litigation and litigation matters from a regulatory perspective preferred.
