What you’ll do:
- Define and drive the product design vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the company’s overall product strategy and business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a growing team of product designers (UX/UI, Research, Content Strategy) to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and design excellence.
- Establish and evolve design processes, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality, efficient, and scalable design outcomes.
- Drive user-centered design thinking throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and behaviors.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to integrate design seamlessly into the product development process.
- Champion design thinking and advocate for the user experience across the organization, influencing product strategy and fostering a design-led culture.
- Oversee the execution of design projects from concept to launch, ensuring designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, usable, and accessible.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations to continuously elevate Aurora’s product design capabilities.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top design talent, building a high-performing and diverse team.
What we’re looking for:
- 15+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product launches and design leadership.
- Proven experience in leading and managing large product design teams (10+ designers), including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a compelling product design vision and strategy that drives business impact.
- Deep expertise in UX/UI design, user research, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to design.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Experience designing for complex enterprise SaaS products is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
The total cash compensation range for this position is C$305,000 – C$330,000 annually. This position is also eligible for an equity package. Compensation takes into account a wide range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, and certifications.
