About the Role
As a Distributed Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the critical components of our data processing ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
- Optimizing existing data pipelines and infrastructure for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and fault tolerance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Participating in on-call rotations to support the stability and availability of our data platform.
- Driving innovation by researching and integrating new technologies and best practices into our stack.
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
About You
We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a deep understanding of distributed systems and a passion for data. Ideal candidates will possess:
- 5+ years of experience in designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Go, with a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies such as Apache Flink, Spark, Kafka, Presto, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
