An Engineering Manager is sought for the Software Supply Chain Security: Pipeline Security team. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the countries listed below. What you’ll do
- Manage a team of 4-8 Engineers
- Lead the team by example, by writing code and performing code reviews to ensure system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to plan and execute the team’s roadmap.
- Drive the delivery of high-quality software features and improvements within established timelines.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Mentor and coach team members, supporting their professional growth and career development.
- Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new engineers, contributing to the growth and success of the team.
- Ensure the team’s alignment with the organization’s overall vision, values, and strategic goals.
- Monitor and report on team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Proactively identify and address technical debt and architectural challenges.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
- Maintain a high level of communication with your team, peers, and leadership.
- Contribute to the broader community through technical discussions, code reviews, and documentation.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing a software engineering team, preferably in an all-remote setting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in backend engineering (e.g., Ruby, Go, Python, Java).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of software supply chain security concepts and tools.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and common web vulnerabilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with open-source development practices.

This includes developing and maintaining features that detect and prevent vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, and build processes. Compensation
The base salary range for this role is between C$178,000 and C$381,000. It also comes with an additional variable component. The compensation offered will depend on various factors, including your location, qualifications, and experience.
