About the Role
Circle is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic and growing engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge financial products and services. You will work on challenging projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall success of our mission to revolutionize the financial industry.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
- Continuously improve our development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and growth.
What you’ll bring to Circle
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and data structures.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and message queues.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and agile environment.
- Passion for fintech, blockchain, or cryptocurrency is a plus.
