About the Role
As a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer on the Feed Relevance team, you will be a key contributor to Reddit’s core feed ranking algorithms and infrastructure.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms for feed ranking and personalization.
- Contribute to the entire ML lifecycle, from problem definition and data collection to model deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Research) to identify opportunities and deliver impactful solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team’s technical growth.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and recommend innovative solutions.
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a focus on ranking, recommendation systems, or search.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with large-scale data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Proven track record of shipping impactful ML models to production.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with real-time ML systems and online experimentation (A/B testing).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
