Legal Counsel
The company is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our growing legal team. You will be responsible for advising the company on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on commercial contracts, data privacy, and intellectual property. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting an innovative and rapidly growing global tech company.
What you’ll do
- Negotiate, draft, and review a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
- Provide legal advice and support on data privacy matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
- Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and copyrights.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including board resolutions and corporate filings.
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on a broad range of legal issues affecting the company.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments, including sales, product, engineering, and finance.
- Stay up-to-date on legal and regulatory developments and provide recommendations for compliance.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to a state bar (preferably New York or California).
- 5-8 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on commercial contracts, data privacy, and intellectual property, preferably in-house at a technology company.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Sound business judgment and ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice.
- Experience with global data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience with SaaS business models and related legal issues.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
