Reddit is powered by communities, which are powered by the content their members create and share. We are looking for a Director of Design to define the vision and strategy for the Content Ecosystem in Reddit’s Product Design team.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of product designers and managers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and impact.
- Define the design vision, strategy, and roadmap for Reddit’s Content Ecosystem, ensuring alignment with product and business goals.
- Champion user-centered design principles, advocating for the needs of content creators and consumers across the platform.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, research, and other cross-functional partners to drive product innovation and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Provide clear and compelling design direction, feedback, and mentorship to your team, raising the bar for design excellence.
- Influence product strategy and advocate for design’s role in shaping the future of Reddit’s content ecosystem.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, communicating design decisions and rationale effectively.
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful design leadership and impact on large-scale consumer products.
- 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring design teams, with a proven track record of developing design talent and building high-performing teams.
- Deep expertise in content creation, consumption, and community dynamics, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the social media landscape.
- Proven ability to define and execute complex design strategies, translating business goals into impactful user experiences.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
- A passion for Reddit and its mission to foster belonging and empower communities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

More details about this role:
The total annual compensation package for this role is between C$332,100 – C$464,400 per year.
The salary for this role is based on the San Francisco market and will be a part of a competitive compensation package that includes equity, perks, and benefits.
Actual multiple of your total compensation will depend on job-related factors including your skills, experience, and qualifications.
