About the role
Looking for an Associate General Counsel, Product/Commercial to join its growing Legal Team. In this role, you will advise on a broad range of legal matters relating to the company’s products and commercial arrangements. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of product development processes and commercial transactions in the technology sector. This is a remote position based in the USA.
What You’ll Do
- Provide legal support for product development, design, and marketing teams for new and existing products.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, strategic partnerships, vendor agreements, and data licenses.
- Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to privacy, data security, intellectual property, open source, and artificial intelligence in the context of products and commercial transactions.
- Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Legal Team and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Bring
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on product counseling and commercial transactions in the technology industry (mix of in-house and law firm experience preferred).
- Expertise in privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), data security, intellectual property, and open source software.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with sound business judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
