Business Development Director – Capital Markets, Credit

As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and closing strategic partnerships with financial institutions globally, including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, payments companies, and other fintechs to drive adoption of Circle’s digital currency products and services.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Sourcing, structuring, and closing strategic partnerships with financial institutions globally, including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, payments companies, and other fintechs to drive adoption of Circle’s digital currency products and services.
  • Deeply understand the capital markets ecosystem and identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and initial outreach to negotiation and closing.
  • Collaborate closely with internal product, legal, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure successful execution of partnerships.
  • Represent Circle at industry conferences and events, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide market feedback and insights to inform product development and strategy.
  • Achieve and exceed aggressive revenue and growth targets.

Prerequisites:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships within financial services, with a strong focus on capital markets.
  • Proven track record of success in sourcing, structuring, and closing complex strategic partnerships with financial institutions.
  • Deep understanding of traditional capital markets infrastructure and products (e.g., fixed income, equities, derivatives, money markets, repo).
  • Strong understanding of digital assets, blockchain technology, and the evolving regulatory landscape is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed global team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
