Business Support Specialist III

We are searching for a Business Support Specialist III to join our team of passionate, talented professionals who are on a mission to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

The Business Support Specialist III works in the Finance Global Operations organization and supports global finance and country office staff in the administration and effective use of the financial and business applications. The specialist troubleshoots issues and provides support for processes and applications, including system configurations, system integrations, system errors, data integrity, security, reporting and general process administration. They resolve issues and provide proactive support to ensure efficient use of business solutions and applications within the ministry.

At the heart of the role is a commitment to providing quality and timely support, proactive issue resolution, and effective administration of the ministry’s financial and business systems and processes.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced business support specialist who is passionate about helping others and committed to our mission. They will have a strong understanding of financial and business processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to provide effective support for business applications.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with global finance and country office staff to resolve complex technical or application issues related to financial and business applications.
  • Works with IT staff to resolve system issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Contributes to the successful implementation of projects for new systems, enhancements, system improvements and integrations for financial and business applications.
  • Works with finance staff to document issues, gather requirements for improvements, and provides support for testing system changes.
  • Performs system configurations to meet business needs in partnership with business owners.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for system use, business processes, and issue resolution for users of finance and business applications.
  • Identifies and contributes to opportunities for process improvements related to financial and business applications.
  • Performs regular data integrity checks, data reviews and audits to ensure accurate and reliable data and system processes.
  • Provides training and support to end-users on how to effectively use financial and business applications.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with financial, business, and technological trends.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of financial and business processes and application functionality to provide effective support.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in business support, financial systems support, or a related role.
  • Experience working with financial applications/enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial processes and accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
