About the Role
Runway is looking for a Creative Director to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for helping define, establish and elevate our creative vision and brand voice to enable our users to tell incredible stories. You’ll be leading a team of talented designers, writers, and artists to execute compelling campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the creative direction of a rapidly evolving AI-powered creative platform. You’ll work closely with our product, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful brand presence across all touchpoints, from product UI to external communications.
What you’ll do
- Define and articulate a clear, compelling creative vision and brand strategy that aligns with our company goals and resonates with our target audience.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary creative team (designers, copywriters, video editors, motion designers) to produce exceptional work across all channels and platforms.
- Oversee the end-to-end creative process from concept to execution, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest creative standards.
- Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated brand experience across all touchpoints.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all internal and external communications.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to continually innovate and evolve our creative approach.
- Present and articulate creative concepts and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders, soliciting feedback and iterating as needed.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
What you’ll need
- 10+ years of experience in creative leadership roles, preferably within a fast-paced tech company or agency environment focused on SaaS, AI, or creative tools.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects, demonstrating exceptional taste, strategic thinking, and execution across various mediums (digital, video, print, social).
- Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing creative teams.
- Deep understanding of branding principles, design systems, and visual communication.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts effectively to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and creative software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, engineering) in an agile environment.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into compelling creative solutions.
