We are looking for a Data Engineer II to join the Music Engineering team as part of our Source of Truth (SRC) domain.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a critical platform that supports various aspects of Spotify’s music ecosystem, including artist attribution and catalog management. You will work on a team that builds and maintains core data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decisions across the company.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and other engineers, to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data assets.
- Optimize data models and schemas for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Contribute to the evolution of our data platform by identifying and implementing new technologies and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production data pipelines and systems.
Who you are
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Python, or Java.
- Strong experience with big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Flink, or similar.
- Expertise in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data architecture principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A passion for data, music, and technology.
Where you’ll be
This role will be located in North America. This is a remote position.
The United States base salary range for this position is C$179,550 – C$256,500. This range may vary depending on your location.
