Data Scientist – Staff or Senior

As a Staff or Senior Data Scientist, you will be a key contributor to our mission of discovering the critical minerals necessary for the clean energy transition. You will be responsible for applying advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and computational techniques to a wide range of geoscience datasets. • Solve mission-critical problems related to the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of geoscience data.
• Work closely with data engineers, software engineers, geologists, and domain experts to develop and deploy data science solutions.
• Collaborate on data exploration and analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and relationships within complex datasets.
• Design and implement machine learning models and algorithms to predict mineral deposits, optimize exploration strategies, and assess geological risks.
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines for real-time data ingestion and processing.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data science methodologies, tools, and best practices.

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Geophysics, Geology, or a related quantitative field; OR Bachelor’s degree with equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering successful data-driven solutions.
• Expertise in Python, including data manipulation (e.g., Pandas), scientific computing (e.g., NumPy, SciPy), and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.

• Experience in the mining or geoscience industry.
• Familiarity with geospatial data processing and visualization tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL).
