Director – Applied Machine Learning

As Director, Applied ML at Gametime, you’ll be a pivotal leader, shaping the future of our product through innovative machine learning solutions. You’ll lead and mentor a talented team of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists, driving the strategic vision and execution of our ML roadmap across critical areas like pricing, personalization, search, and inventory management. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering measurable business impact through cutting-edge ML.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and mentor a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Drive the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution for all applied machine learning initiatives across the company, including pricing, personalization, search, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities, define clear objectives, and deliver measurable results.
  • Architect and oversee the development of robust, scalable, and production-ready ML models and systems.
  • Champion the adoption of best practices in ML model development, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning research and apply cutting-edge techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and ML-driven insights to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to engineers and data scientists.

About you

  • 10+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or related quantitative fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing ML teams.
  • Strong track record of successfully leading, developing, and deploying impactful ML solutions in a production environment at scale.
  • Deep expertise in various ML techniques, including supervised/unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, and deep learning.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed computing technologies (e.g., Spark).
  • Solid understanding of MLOps principles and experience building end-to-end ML pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
