As the Director of Product Management for AI Agents and Ecosystem, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI within GitLab and the broader industry. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of product managers, define strategies, and execute on a vision that transforms how users interact with our platform and leverage AI capabilities.
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, fostering innovation, and driving the successful delivery of our AI agent framework, associated tools, and the overarching ecosystem that enables third-party integrations.
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)
- Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for GitLab’s AI Agents and Ecosystem.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing Product Managers.
- Work closely with engineering, design, research, and other cross-functional teams to deliver innovative AI solutions.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and inform product decisions.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch iteration.
- Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion a data-driven approach to product development and decision-making.
What you’ll bring (Requirements)
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a team of product managers.
- Demonstrated experience in AI/ML product development, with a strong understanding of AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and their applications.
- Proven track record of defining and launching successful products in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a remote-first, global team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source software and developer tools.
- Familiarity with GitLab or similar DevOps platforms.
- Deep understanding of the AI ecosystem, including partnerships and integrations.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business).
