What You’ll Do:
- Lead the research, evaluation, and implementation of new accounting standards (US GAAP) and ensure proper application to new and existing transactions.
- Prepare and/or review technical accounting memos and policies for complex transactions including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, debt, equity, M&A, and consolidations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Treasury, Corporate Development, Finance, Operations) to identify and address accounting implications of business initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting matters.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements within the technical accounting function.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA license required.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant focus on technical accounting and research.
- Prior experience in a leadership role, managing and developing a team.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with a public company is a plus.
- Experience with consolidations and foreign currency translation is a plus.
