DoD RMIC Specialist EVERGREEN

Our Defense & Security segment is seeking an RMIC Specialist to help our client with the development and implementation of Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC) processes, policies, and procedures.

The RMIC Specialist will play a critical role in strengthening the client’s risk management framework and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, internal control design, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Design and implement internal controls to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of risk management and internal control systems, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on risk exposure, control effectiveness, and remediation efforts for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate risk management and internal control principles into business processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on risk management and internal control best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks relevant to the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in risk management, internal control, audit, or compliance roles, preferably within the DoD or Federal Government sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, PMP) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000) and internal control principles.
  • Experience with DoD or Federal Government financial management systems and regulations (e.g., FISCAM, FFMIA) a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred.
