About the Role
Our adaptive telemetry team is responsible for [Company] Agents, Promtail, and Loki, with an emphasis on improving [Company] Agents to be the best way to send observability data to [Company Cloud Product] and beyond. We are focused on making the ingestion and collection of observability data as seamless, efficient, and robust as possible for our customers.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to deliver high-quality software. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of our adaptive telemetry products and ensuring their successful execution. This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and occasionally code reviews.
What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at [Company]:
- Partner closely with Product Management and other engineering teams to define and deliver on our product roadmap.
- Guide and coach your team of engineers to build high-quality, scalable solutions that meet our customers’ needs.

What you’ll bring:
- 4+ years of experience in an engineering management role, preferably in a remote-first or distributed environment.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of modern software engineering principles and practices.
- Experience working with observability systems, such as Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, or OpenTelemetry.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical background in Go or a similar language and experience with cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, public clouds).
- Experience with open source projects and communities is a plus.
