Executive Business Sourcer

We are seeking an Executive Business Sourcer to join our Executive Talent Acquisition team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in proactively identifying, engaging, and assessing exceptional talent across various leadership functions at OpenAI. You will be responsible for building a robust pipeline of world-class leaders who can drive the company’s mission forward, ultimately contributing to the development of safe and beneficial artificial general intelligence.

As an Executive Business Sourcer, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to attracting the best executive talent globally. You will leverage your expertise in strategic sourcing to identify candidates who align with OpenAI’s unique culture and ambitious goals. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate the competitive landscape of executive recruitment.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively identify, engage, and assess exceptional talent across various leadership functions (e.g., Go-to-Market, Engineering, Product, Research, Operations, Legal, Finance, People) at OpenAI.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to generate a robust pipeline of world-class leaders.
  • Leverage various sourcing techniques and tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems, candidate databases, and professional networks.
  • Conduct in-depth research to map target companies, identify key talent, and gather market intelligence.
  • Partner closely with Executive Recruiters and hiring managers to understand their specific needs and desired candidate profiles.
  • Articulate compelling value propositions and engage passive candidates with the mission and opportunities at OpenAI.
  • Maintain accurate and organized candidate data in our ATS (Greenhouse) and provide regular updates on sourcing progress.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our sourcing processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for OpenAI, representing our values and culture to potential candidates.

  • 5+ years of experience in executive business sourcing within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying and engaging top-tier executive talent across diverse functions.
  • Strong proficiency in utilizing various sourcing tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems, candidate databases).
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to gather and synthesize complex information.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence candidates.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • A data-driven approach to sourcing, with the ability to track metrics and optimize strategies.
  • A passion for OpenAI’s mission and a genuine interest in artificial intelligence.
