The Major Gifts Officer is a key member of a dynamic and growing fund development team, responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors. This role plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s fundraising goals by securing significant financial contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
The Opportunity
As the Major Gifts Officer, you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
Manage a portfolio of 75-100 major gift prospects and donors, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement.
Conduct prospect research to identify new potential major donors and deepen relationships with existing ones.
Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and reports tailored to donor interests and giving capacities.
Collaborate with the CEO, VP, Advancement, and other team members to align fundraising efforts with institutional priorities.
Ensure timely and accurate entry of donor information into the CRM (Raisers Edge NXT) and maintain meticulous records.
Participate in donor recognition and stewardship events to enhance donor loyalty and engagement.
Maintain a current understanding of fundraising best practices, philanthropic trends, and regulatory requirements.
Support the overall goals of the Advancement team and contribute to a collaborative and positive work environment.
