The Linux Foundation is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager II to join our team. This role will be focused on supporting the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). As a key member of the CNCF marketing team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing communications strategies across various channels.
Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and execute multi-channel communications programs for assigned projects and initiatives.
- Create compelling content including press releases, blog posts, website copy, social media updates, presentations, and other marketing collateral.
- Manage media relations, including proactive outreach to journalists, responding to media inquiries, and coordinating interviews.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, project leaders, and community members.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and inform communication strategies.
- Support event marketing efforts, including developing promotional materials, coordinating speaker engagements, and managing on-site communications.
- Collaborate with the broader marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation across all channels.
- Track and report on the effectiveness of communication programs, using data to inform future strategies and optimizations.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, often with competing deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in marketing communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to create engaging and informative content across various formats.
- Demonstrated experience in media relations, including developing and maintaining relationships with journalists and securing media coverage.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with open-source communities and/or cloud native technologies is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
