What you’ll do
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in our backend systems, including databases, APIs, and microservices.
- Conduct performance testing, analysis, and tuning to ensure optimal system responsiveness and scalability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement performance-optimized solutions.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify performance issues.
- Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on performance best practices and potential optimizations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in backend performance engineering.
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience in backend performance optimization, including database tuning, API optimization, and caching strategies.
- Proficiency in PHP or a similar server-side language, with a solid understanding of web development best practices.
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies (e.g., JMeter, Locust, k6).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving performance issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A track record of working effectively in a distributed team environment.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with others.
