As a Principal Platform Engineer, you’ll be a key technical leader, responsible for driving the architecture, design, and implementation of critical platform components and infrastructure that power our cutting-edge analytical products.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the architectural design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, reliable, and performant platform services and infrastructure.
- Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns across the engineering team.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our platform capabilities and developer experience.
- Champion reliability, security, and operational excellence throughout the platform lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high availability and performance of production systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support critical platform services.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, with a strong focus on platform engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
- Expertise in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Scala).
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Extensive experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and RESTful principles.
- Proficiency in database technologies (relational and NoSQL) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) is a plus.
- Experience in the financial services domain or working with large-scale data platforms is a plus.
